On my way from Houston to Shreveport today, I stopped in Lufkin, TX and on the front page of today's Lufkin Daily News, the top headline is that the Fish and Wildlife Service as approved the Neches Wildlife Refuge which puts an end to the city of Dallas plans for Lake Fastrill. This saves the Texas State RR from abandonment which would have been the case if the wildlife refuge not been approved. Now maybe there will be more state impetus to fund the railroad.

That is excellent news!!
