Location: Laurel Run, Pa.
I have Just learned that Don Wood, noted PRR. and other rails photographer, has passed away 5:30am. today from Prostrate cancer.
RIP Don.

I didn't know him, but have seen his work in many publications. Ranks up there with the stuff by Collins, Hastings, Nowak, etc.

One of the few unparallelled photographers of the CNJ and PRR, who came to live in a time when historians needed his artistic talents painfully. Don set the standard to northeastern steam photography, and continued to love the Pennsy long after it was gone. If there is a heaven, let's hope it is filled with the Belpaired locos he loved, and plenty of Camelback 4-6-0's and Atlantics, all hot and steaming.
