I photographed these locomotives in 2001, and sent the pictures to Hume Kading, who kindly assembled them in to a brief for this journal I hope they are stored somewhere for reference. What is the factual status of the locomotives? We were given to understand that the bunch had been donated to VMT for either display of reclaimation. Is that moving? If so, in which direction? In all sincerity, I have seen worse locomotives on display in parks! I'm betting one will steam again someday, assuming they are put underprotection and lubed.

Hi Richard and Everyone,
The last time I was in Roanoke and went by the Scrapyard the engines and the rest of the equipment was still sitting there. I understand that the Virginia Museum of Transportation has no money to move them at this time. Also we werent allowed onto the scrapyard to get more photos of them.
If I hear anything else I will let everyone know.
Andrew Martin
