From this past weekend's "Annual Picnic." A fantastic time was had by all!
1st image: Photo freight leaving Alna Center.

2nd image: Alna Center Station Agent, Julius Stuck.

3rd image: Mixed Train approaches Humason Brook.

Outstanding photos! Except for the fact that the headlamp most likely would not have been burning in daylight, it is hard not to imagine these were taken back in the day...

Also, I'm sure if we had a time machine they original track gang on the WW&F would be astounded to see real ballast! But then again maybe the WW&F wouldn't have ended the same way in 1933 if there had been ballast back then.

As far as running the with headlight on during the day, I suppose you are correct in that they would not have been doing so 80 years ago. However it is safer, and of course makes for a more dramatic photo :-)

In any case it's my fault as I requested that the headlight be on!!!
