Flimsies is acting up now.

Many of them now seem to not open up a new page, but instead displace RyPN when opened. Damnably annoying if you are accustomed to closing the page after reading, then have to reactivate your browser and reopen RyPN to read more of them. Then you discover that hidden among them are some that DO open new pages, and these are the only ones that change color in the flimsies list after having been viewed.

Can we just put it back the way it was? Please?

Also, thanks for re-emailing me all the notifications about the messages that came back to life after I deleted them weeks ago. It was nostalgic.

Dave, it may be your browser. I just went back through the last weeks worth of Flimsies entries, and they all open in a new window for me.

Haven't changed browsers, Boyd. Same Netscape 7.something.

Dave, sorry to have to say this, but...

1. Nothing has changed about the Flimises code

2. I just checked the HTML it is putting out and all links include the target="_blank" tag, which is the standard HTML instruction to open the link in a new browser window.

So it really is not anything on RyPN's end.

If at first you don't succeed,
a control + ALT + Delete is what you need.

Try rebooting your computer.
