After a long delay the Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society's 10-6 sleeping car, Nickel Plate Road "City of Lima" is scheduled to start its move from Midwest Locomotive in Kansas City to Madison, IL today, Nov. 19. Kansas City Southern is scheduled to pick it up Sunday morning at 9:00AM... Interchange to BNSF should be made by 1700 Sunday afternoon.

The ELDCPS would like to get photos of this car as it moves for the first time in its Nickel Plate Road colors. If you are out chasing along the way, please keep an eye for this car - reporting marks are RPCX211. The Society will send the 2007 Erie Lackawanna calendar to the best photo image we receive.

Right now there are three possible routings… The two most likely are Kansas City-West Quincy-Lindenwood-Madison or Kansas City-Galesburg-Madison… I am trying to get the car routed via KC-Gales-Mad. There isn’t much to do until the car is actually on the BNSF system.

Just saw the message from your VP-Communications on another board. It appears the car is still in KC.

If the car travels KC - West Quincy - Galesburg over the BNSF Brookfield sub, I can chase with ease, as the main travels through my hometown near West Quincy.

If the car travels KC - Fort Madison - Galesburg on the old AT&SF transcon, chasing will be hard due to work.

Keep us informed and I will do my level best to help out.
