As long as we are on the subject of PM berks did any of them have one piece cast frames or roller bearings? Am I correct in remembering at least a few had boosters? I have read conflicting reports on these details.

Thanks in advance.

Only the N-2s had cast frames, and none of the PM's Berkshires had roller bearings.

Only ten PM Berkshires had boosters: N class Berks #1211-1215 and N-2s #1235-1239.

That is a little odd. Why were only 5 of each class given boosters? Were they assigned to a territory with more grades or used on heavier or faster trains?

Sorry to be asking dumb questions but my knowlege of the PM is between none and less. Thanks again in advance for any answers you may have.
