Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern shops in Twin Cities area. Not sure of the age of this building or when the demolition actually happened. MN&S was acquired by Soo Line in the 1980s.

MN&S used Russian Decapods in steam days, but they probably did not utilize this enginehouse.

Bob - In additions to its Russian Decapods of World War 1 vintage, I think MN&S also had a World War 2 vintage 2-10-0 on its roster. This was one of the lesser known Decapods that were all actually shipped over to the USSR to help them keep their railroads going. As I recall the story, one engine was "dropped" when loading at the dock and the Russian government refused it. It was sent back to the builder (not sure which one, perhaps Baldwin), repaired and then offered for sale. It was quite similar to the 2-10-0's already on their roster, so the MN&S bought it. Would be nice if someone could post a picture of it so we could see the differences.
