Hi Tim
The general consensus of the board of directors has been heavily leaning toward a Birney car though not necessarily an original Fort Collins car.

Roger,

I read somewhere that when warp passed away the family offered the collection to both the National Park Service and the Nebraska State Parks System. Never did hear what happened.

Do you know who is running the place these days?

Hi Ted
I believe that Harry's sons are now running it. It has been a long time since I have been out that way. I know that our attorney talked with them about 7 years ago and they wern't interested in parting with it at that time. We have also had discussions with the Henery Ford Museum about their car to no avail either.
Regards

Roger (if I may),

The Henry Ford sold, I guess, their Detroit DSR Peter Witt to the Illinois Railway Museum a few years. I would think they would want to keep something from the Detroit area, although the Fort Collins car did do a tour of Detroit streets before being put in the museum.

How many cars would you like to have if you had your way?

Hi Tim
Car 26 was run very briefly on a trial run before being donated to the Henery Ford Museum. As far as getting more cars, 2 would be nice to have just incase we have a brakedown of one of them. We however do not have the ridership to currently justify having 2 cars on the line at one time. Other than having a motorman pretzlize a pole once and a great while I have had no problems with our #21. In order to achieve the up time I have on 21 requires a great deal of diligence and making sure that all of the little problems get fixed before they become big ones. I inspect the car at least once a week during our operating season to make sure that the brakes are properly adjusted, the journal boxes all have oil, the contacts in the controllers are in proper order and all the hardware is tight.
