A number of years ago, there were plans by the Museum of Transport to restore their MKT 4-4-0 #1303 (formerly #311) to service. I remember that one of the things they were looking for at the time was a Sunbeam steam locomotive headlight so that they could restore her to her appearance from her rebuilding with a new boiler in 1925 to the time she ended her service on the Katy in September of 1952. Although the restoration to service was abandoned, I wondered if MofT still has intentions of restoring the American to her 1925-1952 appearance. I wonder if the headlight that Scott pointed out is for sale is of the type that they were looking for. Maybe someone from MofT can clue us in.
