Thats right! So long as nothing unusual crops up, Conway Scenic Railroad will be running a train from North Conway, NH all the way to Fabyans station in Bretton Woods, NH on July 14th . Power for the trip is schedualed to be ex CN 0-6-0 #7470. The train will most likely be shadowed a few miles back by one of our diesels, most likely U23 #2820 because it has the dynamic braking for the return trip down the 2%+ grades.
This will be the first time steam has run from North Conway to Fabyans since Maine Central steam was replaced by diesels in the 1950s!

More good news is that as soon as 7470 moves from winter storage in stall #3 of the roundhouse to stall #1, ex-Maine Central 2-8-0 #501 will be moved in from the radial track. Thank you for the information. I will most definetly be there! They actually ran the 7470 through to Crawford Notch three years in a row (1999, 2000, 2001). I rode the trip in 2000 and we chased it in 2001. Both times were simply awesome. They did a runby both years I went over the Willey Brook Trestle. There is nothing, and I mean nothing like the sound of a barking steam locomotive going through the Notch.
