This is a video clip of the sinking of the former Lehigh Valley Railroad tug HAZLETON. The vessel was retired by McAllister Brothers Towing. You will notice as the tug slides backwards it stops abruptly when the stern hits bottom in about 90 feet of water. This was posted on YouTube last summer.

In the week that RYPN was down, several people contacted me to question whether this was in fact the Lehigh Valley's HAZLETON, due to the tug having a low pilothouse and stack. Yes, this is the HAZLETON, I talked with her former owner to confirm it. I also talked with Joe Hack, who designed the boat back in the 1940s. The stack and pilothouse were lowered many years ago for ship docking service.
