These two cars apparently are for a very upscale condominium/apartment and shopping center development in Glendale, Calfornia. Does anybody know more?

Apparently same owner/operator has "The Grove" which is an upscale shopping area in the "Fairfax" area of Los Angeles. This is on the "west side" of L.A. near Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

"The Grove" has a double-deck battery powered "street car." I found a picture of the car at Flickr. Follow the link:

I think it was a Blackpool tram - but I may be confusing the car being used for this new project?

The Grove streetcar was built by Entertainment Engineering Inc. of Burbank Ca, to no specific prototype. I believe it uses rebuilt PCC trucks.
Said to carry about 700,000 riders per year.

The owner of both the Grove and the Glendale Galleria is my old college roommate Rick J. Caruso, the son of former L.A. used car dealer H.J. Caruso. The family has an interesting history.

Thanks for setting me stright on this one Jeff. Now I wonder who it was that got the Blackpool from Paul Class to convert to battery power?

They would if their prices weren't so astronomical. Old Pueblo Trolley is working on acquiring additional streetcars and at current prices, we can import trams from just about anywhere in the world and rebuild them to suit our needs for less than one vehicle from Gomaco. Right now we're looking at W-2s and if all works out, will have at least one on it's way within the next year.
