That last SP&S F7A loco

Has that sole surviving SP&S F-unit diesel in Stillwater, MN, been scrapped yet? (MZ 787 / SP&S 804)

Or by some miracle, has it been rescued and now resides safely at IRM awaiting transportation to Northwest Railway Museum? One can hope, eh?

So I can assume the SP&S diesel stuffed and mounted at that museum along the river isn't really an SP&S one?

The F9 near Stevenson, WA is former NP #7013D.

I believe that one of the Ed Ellis organization holding companies purchased, or was in negotiations to purchase, this equipment. The passenger cars have already been moved to Alamosa, CO, where they await possible restoration.

The article reports that, as of that writing (two months ago), Ed Ellis' company has not paid for the locomotives and is having financial problems.

This is good news, as the outlook for this unit in Stillwater, MN and Alamosa, CO seemed dire.
